I’m applying for an FHA loan in Illinois, but the broker informed me that a criminal background check needed to be done to check for a felony charge. . . five years ago I got a misdemeanor. . i’m worried he will find out and I might not qualify for this loan. . Does anyone know specific requirements for an FHA loan?? Thanks for any answers

It does come back clean, any idea how that worked out ?

My job consist of NCIS background checks
I took a drug case for my husband. He got caught with the drugs and I told the cops it was mine. The courts didnt want me and pleaded with me not to take the case but I was a fool and wouldnt listen. When I plead guilty the judge looked at me and said Im gonna give you 30 days to change your mind then sentenced me to probation which I didnt serve. When the law caught up with me two years later I was on the run from my husband and being moved all around the world. My D. V. counslor contacted the courts and told them what was going on the judge told me I didnt have to come back to court no more just finish paying off the fines when I could. Is there a chance the judge wiped it off my record ?

i was charged with illegal consumption and a paraphernalia charge when i was a minor, i pleaded guilty. i was told by the states attorney that since i was a minor that these charges would never show up on my record and that they would be charges, not convictions. i applied for this position and they pulled up a background check. i told them that i had not been convicted of anything. long behold the background check pulls these up saying i was charged and plead guilty. the employer says i have to get ahold of the courthouse and prove that i was not convicted of these charges. how do i go about doing this? it was in christian county, Il.

I know someone who lives in an really nice apartment complex and they are strict in doing credit checks and background checks, but one of the neighbors who live in their building they know for a fact that they spent some jail time about 15 yrs ago. When they asked this person about it they said that it didn’t show up on the background so they did not tell them.

im in illinois and southwest is doing a background check. what can they ask my former employer. i resigned my position cause they wanted to terminate me for attendance(i had a bad staph infection and missed some days which i had sick days to cover). the interviewer asked me if it was true about me resigning but my employer might say something else cause im going to work for a competitor.
what questions can they ask and what cant they ask.
