FHA GUIDELINES, criminal background check?

I’m applying for an FHA loan in Illinois, but the broker informed me that a criminal background check needed to be done to check for a felony charge. . . five years ago I got a misdemeanor. . i’m worried he will find out and I might not qualify for this loan. . Does anyone know specific requirements for an FHA loan?? Thanks for any answers

    I have never heard of any mtg company doing a criminal background check on an applicant, call your state attorney General and check it may be a scam
